Why We Ask For Electric Bill

our process for "right-sizing" your
solar energy system

For our professional solar PV designers to engineer a custom solar PV system for your home, it’s important for us to understand the historic electric consumption at your home. Looking at your usage history tells us how big your solar system should be to supply your home with solar energy.

Annual Usage Graph

We want to design a solar array that will produce enough electricity to offset the amount you’re currently using from the grid. We do not want to oversell you solar and size a solar energy system that is larger than your homes current annul energy use.

One reason –  Many people don’t know that utilities in Ohio do not allow residential customers to generate more electricity than they consume in a year.

We size our customers solar systems at less than 100% of the total energy they will consume in a year for this reason.

The Rate You Pay for Electricity

You may wonder: “how much can I save by going solar?”  We estimate the amount of money you will save going solar by the annual electricity costs you’re paying right now.

Your Account Number

Kokosing Solar is a full turnkey solar partner. When you choose to go solar with us, we use the account number from your bill to file all the necessary permits to ensure that your solar energy system follows rules set forth by the state and your utility provider.

Don’t worry: we will never file any permits without a signed contract.

If you just moved into a home or your home is being built, we understand that it won’t be possible to produce an electric bill for us. Please let us know if this is the case.

In these cases, our solar consultants will work with you to create an estimate for your future electricity use.

Planning to add an Electric Vehicle or a hot tub? Were you using lots of electricity renovating your home last year, energy you don’t anticipate using again this year?

Let us know when you submit your bill, and we’ll take these factors into account

One of the easiest ways to get your electric bill to us is by downloading it from your account portal on your utility providers website. Simply, download a recent bill and send it to us!

Kokosing Solar does not provide quick pricing for solar because each of our installations are site specific and custom to the customer’s goals and budget.

Here are three critical factors to consider:

  • Available roof space for solar
  • We analyze your current electric bill for your annual consumption. This will help us indicate how many panels would be needed to offset your consumption.
  • Your personal goals and budget on this project. For example, if having power during a grid outage is a key goal, your costs will vary as your system will need a battery.

Remember this power plant will last 25+ years, so taking time to customize to your property, goals and home is extremely important to our team.
