A home builder and cabinetry maker built his shop years ago with a roof ready for solar. He called in Third Sun Solar, and with the support of an Ohio grant, his goal of solar-powered woodworking became reality.
When the shop is in use, the utility grid provides the high amperage power needed by the large shop motors. While work is done off-site, the array of solar panels steadily and silently generates a trickle of power. Over the course of a year the use and production average out for a 100% solar-powered business, practical only through net metering.
