The Buskirk home was already a showpiece of efficient and environmentally-sensitive design, and adding active solar was the culmination of a long-term dream.
With only two (very conscientious) occupants, the electric use was very low, so a smaller system was chosen. The inverter and roof location were selected to allow for easy future expansion if desired.
